Maine Lobsters!!!

From Salem we drove up north to Maine and settled in a very luxurious and comfy hotel called Coachman Inn at Kittery. Located right next to the factory outlets shops, we headed straight to the shops right after we checked in! No time to waste! Haha...;p Emmanuel found a really elegant and tough as nails pair of COACH leather gloves with a separate inside wool gloves going for only $45 from $290 and... he actually walked away!!!! I wish I had bought it for him secretly now...sigh....

Honghui wanted to go to Maine for one thing - LOBSTERS. So we went to a local lobster restaurant called Warren's and had our fill of the region's famous Maine Lobster. My one-pounder crustacean was devoured in under 10mins! So small!!! But so expensive so bo pian... :(

The next town of York featured a lovely lighthouse that is typical of New England. The towns here in New England are rather charming with their well preserved but flimsy clapwood houses set amidst the harsh seafronts and ocean views. We felt the difference immediatelty when we left New England and drove back to New York state - one word: BLEAH. In memory, we bought a miniature lighthouse to hang on our christmas tree.

It was Suz's birthday on 29th and we were invited for a delish Italian meal of roasted lamb at Joe's place in Portsmouth. Portsmouth in New Hampshire is really lovely and I wish we had more time to go explore the quaint little shops and cafes here. The one good thing about New Hampshire is their tax-free alcohol and all profits from the sale of alcohol in the state-run liquor stores goes back to the community for education. Which kinda gives you a "licence" to drink as much as you can? You think? Anyway, their stock of liquor is excellent and I love the Godiva White Chocolate liquor and the Malibu Passionfruit Rum. Yumz! I drank way too much wine during dinner and my whole body became red lava and then i passed out on the table. Cheers to the New Hampshire spirit! *Hic!*

sweetie, your pix of the lobster reminded me of that scene in 'My Best Friend's Wedding' where Rupert Everett broke into 'Say a Little Prayer'.
