The Klutz goes Skiing at Belleayre Mountains

January is JINXED!!!

Jan 2006 - I sprained my ankle during the intermission of Phantom of the Opera while going down the steps. 1week later, I was in Flims in Switzerland's ski mountains and I couldn't learn to ski cos of my damned ankle!!! ^&%^$%#$#

BUT

Emmanuel fell in love with me and became protective over my ankle and now we are happily married. Happy ending. =)

1st Jan 2007 - First day of the year and I fell flat on my face on the ski slopes and dragged my body face down with my legs apread apart into an inverted "Y" and injured my right knee so badly I am now hobbling around on crutches.

BUT

The first aid came to rescue me in a snowmobile and... I did say I wanted to ride on one. Wish fulfilled. Be careful what you wish for, honey. ;p

And oh! I took advantage of my newly acquired handicap status and we parked at the handicap lot and Emmanuel got me this wheely so I can still go shopping in Target!!! It was so much fun!!! I am actually proud I could manoeuvre along the aisles and even do reverse on this thing w/o any accidents! I think I can go get my driving licence now...hehehe....

Drama aside, we had fun at Belleayre Mountains learning how to ski and snowboard and discovered a Bridget Jones wannabe on the bunny hill when Suzanne became a "runaway" on her skis. It snowed for the first time in NY on our first lesson and it was such a nice feeling to see snow even tho' Christmas is now over. Hahaha...

Skiing was so much fun and I had always thought I would be a snowboarder but the repetitive actions of falling on your ass(ouch!!!) and dragging ice into your pants and having wet underwear for the whole freezing day kinda put me off snowboarding. Oh, and it hurts my wrists so much whenever i try to get up. Skiing became my natural choice and I was so confident on the slopes until this stupid crash. *!@*&*^%$%#$?@# What a bloody jinx way to usher in the new year indeed!!! Urgh!!!

New Year's Eve was kind of a blur to me and for once I finally found beers that I like! American beers are so watered down they actually taste like carbonated water - which is what I adore!!! Right now, Bud Lite is the only thing I like that comes from America. Kudos to that!
