Good news or bad news first?
The Bad news is:
Emmanuel just got diagnosed with mild pneumonia today. After complaining of chest pains similar to where I experience occasional gall bladder/rib pains on my right chest, I thought he might be experiencing the "pregnant daddy" syndromes I've read about where fathers-to-be go through the same symptoms as the pregnant moms(i.e. gaining weight, fatigue, you get the drift). After days of breathlessness and pain, he finally relented and went to the doc's, got an x-ray & sonogram and got diagnosed. You see, I'm always an advocate of going asap to the doc's to check whenever there is something wrong with your body. Never procrastinate. You just never know. I'm just so glad we caught this early.
We are flying off to California for 2 weeks(he-work/play, me-100% vacation). Timing sucks but we've got our antibiotics with us and hopefully it'll blow over asap. Please say a prayer for him to get well soon and that he'll be back to his healthy and bouncy self soon!
The Good news is:
We are going on a full blown vacation!!! Yeah! Yippee! I know France was only 6months ago BUT...it has also been 192 days since we went on holiday! That's super loooooong...! Since this will be our last vacation before the baby arrives, we intend to make the most of it(you know me...). Hence, ambitious us will be cramming in 5 National Parks in this trip on top of squeezing in a semi-pornographic Cirque du Soleil show and dining at one of celebrity chef Thomas Keller's restaurants.
I'm glad the wildfires of southern California has sizzled out and the damage is controlled cos that's exactly where we will be flying off to in 12hours' time. My sympathies to all those who lost their homes to the fires and I pray that you have insurance coverage. God bless.
First stop: San Diego, here we come! =)
